Seagate Drives
Posted by Michael Dale on Mon, 08 Jan 2007 10:30 PMI had another Seagate drive die on me. I'm not going to be buying that brand from now on, pity I thought they were pretty good.
Any recommendations?

Lately, i've been reading up about Samsung as a good HDD brand. The brand as a whole has been getting good reviews on most hardware sites.
Maxtor has a history of dieing almost as much as Seagate.
Hitachi is also a good brand but i've read a few sites saying that for general desktop use and archival ability, the Samsung is better.
I've pretty much vowed never to buy a Seagate again after the two in my machine make bizarre humming sounds which im assuming mean they're nearing the end.
