Tournament of Minds Judging Program

Michael Dale

So I have started writing a judging program for Tournament of Minds that will be used in the Sydney East section this year. If everything works out it will be used throughout NSW next year.

So this is what it is starting to look like :)

What I'm currently working on

Michael Dale

Since I have an assignment due next week I thought it would be a good idea to not work on it :)

So in no particular order I am currently doing:

  • Working two days a week for BlueArc doing customer support and looking after our firewalls/vpns
  • Doing a networking subject at UTS (two subjects to go until I have Bachelor of Science in Information Technology)
  • Half day a week maintaining a website for a friend who is currently overseas
  • Writing Bluetrait 2
  • Continued development of Bluetrait Event Viewer
  • Writing an online judging system for Tournament of Minds NSW
  • Writing an online application that manages money spent in our house (it's also got an iphone version)
  • Doing adhoc IT support for Belle Property Hunters Hill

New Car

Michael Dale

We'll I purchased my first car today!

It is a Honda Accord 1998 V6-L and has only done 25,000km. Cost me $4k.

It has been sitting in a garage for the last two years so it is at the mechanic getting a major service and a timing belt change.

Well I can finally edit posts :) So I'm slowing going through my old posts and adding some categories to them. I need to add some more categories but I can't do that yet :p

Commenting is back.

Michael Dale
I've re-enabled commenting as I've written in spam filtering. There might be a few issues, but we'll see how it goes.

Site Upgrade

Michael Dale
This site has just been upgraded to Bluetrait 2. I expect that there will be a few errors. I may need to disable comments as I haven't written any spam filtering yet! RSS feeds should be better as they now use the pubDate tag (meaning you shouldn't be seeing the same post over and over again in your rss reader). Categories should work too, plus you can append /rss/ to the end of a category link and it should display just the posts for that category. And there is a little bit of jquery used for the "Click for comments help." section. If you find any bugs please send me an email via the contact link.

Michael Dale
Got myself a new mobile today. Bit of an impulse buy, but my old phone was starting to act up. Anyway I got myself a Nokia E65. Seems to work fairly well, its fast and does phone stuff :)
